PS 169 cultivates a joyful and nurturing community, where students are seen, heard, and valued. We provide a safe, equitable, and academically rich learning environment so that all students are empowered to develop their individual voices, grow as learners, and celebrate their identities throughout their lifetimes. 

Mission:

PS 169’s mission is to cultivate a safe and nurturing community that empowers our students and families. We will do this by:

• Creating a supportive school environment that elevates student voices

• Valuing all languages equally

• Ensuring that students and families see themselves and their identities reflected in culturally-responsive learning experiences

• Developing literacy and biliteracy skills through explicit reading instruction and immersion in rich texts

• Empowering students to be caring and responsible citizens, making positive contributions to their communities to make the world a better place
