P.S. 169 Comprehensive Education Plan
P.S. 169 Sunset Park School’s School Leadership Team (SLT) prepares the annual Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP) which includes our school’s goals and strategies, including guidance on the comprehensive needs assessment.
The SLT is responsible for developing the school’s annual Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP). The CEP development process requires teams to:
use relevant data to assess and prioritize school needs
set goals to meet school needs
develop action plans to achieve goals
implement action plans
assess interim progress
evaluate overall plan effectiveness.
Our Curriculum Programs
Illustrative Mathematics
We teach students to learn math by doing math. Instead of memorizing procedures, students solve meaningful problems, explain their thinking, and collaborate with each other.
HMH
We use an evidence-based approach to reading instruction that teaches the skills students need to read. Students learn reading, writing, and discussion skills to gain topic knowledge from the texts.
Edward’s Orton-Gllingham (OG)
Our K-2 phonics program supports a wide range of students at varying levels of comprehension. Instruction is multisensory and supports oral language, fluency, and vocabulary.
